"Meerlust", means "pleasure of the sea", as the manor house sits on a granite outcrop only 5km from False Bay, the vineyards are refreshed in summer, by ocean breezes and evening mists which roll in from the coast. The Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon was vinified from selected fruit of 2 low yielding mature vineyards. Only the free run wine was used and aged for 16 months in tight grained French Nevers oak barrels.
