Frans Malan, the founder of Simonsig and was the first producer of Méthode Cap Classique in South Africa, with the pioneering Kaapse Vonkel in 1971. The Satin Nectar, is a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, wth small portions of Pinot Meunier and Pinotage, made in a gently sweet Demi-Sec style.
